LNER Y6 Steam Tram Locomotive
This an N Gauge kit of the LNER Y6 tram locomotive, a small 0-4-0 steam engine originally built by the Great Eastern Railway as the G15 Class. These locomotives were supplied to the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway in East Anglia, 10 were built but by the time they were passed into LNER ownership only 6 remained. They were later gradually replaced by the more powerful and better known LNER J70 (GER C53). Unfortunately, none survived into preservation.
PLEASE NOTE; You will receive an unpainted, 3D resin printed kit. Painted and assembled examples of the finished kits are shown in the photos. Instructions are not included so please refer to the directions below.
This kit includes;
- Locomotive body shell.
- 75 ohm resistor.
- Tram roof.
- Steam engine.
- 2x N standard couplings.
for a less obtrusive method of coupling the loco to the standard N scale couplings, ive used a staple that has been bent and cut to size then slotted between the skirt bars and fixed in place with superglue. it can be seen in the listing photos. I recommend trying the same but some regular N scale couplings are included if their presence is not an issue.
